Faculty of Literature & Humanities

The Faculty of Literature and Humanities is home to a Bachelor of Journalism and Media Communication. It also offers General Education courses in humanities, social sciences, natural and physical sciences, and technology that provide EIU students with a base of general knowledge and skills for life and career.
The Faculty also offers the Official Freshman program and Intensive English Language Program prepare incoming students to join the fields of study they choose, and its English language centers enhance their written and oral communication skills.


Vision 

The Faculty of Literature and Humanities’ vision is to be a leading center for scholarly inquiry and creative expression, thus contributing to the advancement of knowledge in literature, humanities, education, linguistics, and other related fields. The Faculty aspires to contribute to society by producing graduates who are equipped with the intellectual, analytical, and ethical foundations that will enable them to engage meaningfully with the surrounding multifaceted challenges and contribute to society at large through critical reflection and community engagement.


Mission

The mission of the Faculty of Literature and Humanities is to foster critical thinking, cultural understanding, and academic excellence by offering high-quality education in the humanities and literary disciplines. Through a diverse, multifaceted, and inclusive curriculum, the faculty aims to:

1.  To develop well-rounded individuals capable of analyzing and interpreting texts, cultures, histories, and human experiences from multiple perspectives.

2. Offer courses and programs that will enable students to be competent, critical, ethically, as well as socially responsible professionals;
3. Offer well-grounded, significant, informative, and emancipating General Education courses to all students at the University;
