EIU Graduate Mariam Khoder Honored at 24th Chaderji Architectural Competition
20/05/2025
We are proud to announce that East International University’s Architecture Program, part of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, was represented at the 24th Chaderji Architectural Graduation Project Competition by our distinguished graduate, Ms. Mariam Khoder. Her project, A Whisper in the Dark, was the only entry to receive an Honorable Mention—effectively placing fourth among more than twenty submissions from architecture programs across Lebanon. This exceptional achievement highlights the depth, creativity, and critical relevance of her work and stands as a strong reflection of the academic quality and vision of our growing program.
The Chaderji Architectural Competition, held on May 17th, 2025, at the Order of Engineers and Architects in Beirut, brought together top graduates from the 2022–23 academic year representing all Architecture programs in Lebanon. Since its launch in 2000, the competition has become a respected national platform that celebrates architectural excellence, innovation, and socially engaged design in final-year graduation projects.
Named in honor of the late Iraqi architect Rifat Chadirji, a visionary figure in modern Arab architecture, the competition continues to promote design thinking that is critically reflective and contextually responsive. It plays a vital role in connecting academic achievement with professional discourse and recognition within Lebanon’s architectural community.
