As part of the Doctoral Studies Days – Middle East Edition held at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK), East International University (EIU) was proudly represented by EIU Director of quality assurance and entrepreneurship center Mr. Hani Mawlawi, who participated in the panel discussion titled: “Doctoral Studies and Entrepreneurial Engagement: Research, Mentorship, and Impact.”
The panel featured esteemed speakers including Dr. Gilbert Mouawad, Ms. Lynda Achkouty Mouawad, Ms. Nour Sardouk, and was skillfully moderated by Dr. Nancy Saliba Boueri, Director of the Asher Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (ACIE).
Mr. Hani Mawlawi shared insights from their doctoral research, which focuses on the impact of entrepreneurship education on the development of student entrepreneurs in Lebanon. The talk also highlighted the personal and professional motivations that led to a career in entrepreneurship, and reflected on the challenges of balancing a PhD at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (CNAM) with academic responsibilities at EIU.
“Those challenges became a source of momentum rather than setbacks,” Mr. Hani Mawlawi noted, emphasizing the importance of perseverance, mentorship, and institutional support in navigating the doctoral journey.
EIU extends its gratitude to Dr. Nancy Saliba Boueri and Dr. Ranya Salameh, Dean of the College of Doctoral Studies at USEK, for their kind invitation and outstanding organization of this intellectually rich and inspiring event.
